Birthday countdown for iPhone
Save the next birthday with a photo, a yearly repeat and an optional reminder. On iPhone with iOS 26 or later, the free app includes up to five moments and a small Home Screen widget.

Set up your birthday countdown
- 1Tap the plus button in Antici. Enter a name and the next birthday's date, including its upcoming year and the time you want to count down to.
- 2Add a photo or a short video, then choose Yearly in Repeats if you want to track the birthday again.
- 3Turn on Remind me and save the moment. Allow notifications when asked, then open Antici Settings, then Notifications, and choose 7 days before or 1 day before if you want time to arrange a gift or call.
- 4Select the saved moment in the small Antici Home Screen widget. Group several birthday moments in a Birthdays category if you like.
Repeat the date each year
Choose Yearly in Repeats for a birthday you want to track again. After the saved date passes, Antici advances the countdown when you next open the app. The completed occurrence stays in your history, while the next one starts without a photo or video.
Keep the birthday and party separate
If the party is on another day, give it a separate moment with its own date and time. Keep the birthday on Yearly and leave the party on Never unless the celebration itself repeats. For a February 29 birthday, check the next date and choose the day you plan to celebrate.
Choose a birthday for your widget
Add the free small Antici Home Screen widget. Touch and hold it, choose Edit Widget and select an upcoming birthday. You can change the selected moment whenever you want another countdown. Larger Home Screen widgets and Lock Screen widgets require Antici Premium.

- How do I make a birthday countdown repeat every year?
- Create a moment for the next birthday, including its year and time. Choose Yearly in Repeats. After that date passes, Antici advances it when you next open the app. Yearly repeat follows your iPhone's current calendar; check the next date if you change calendar settings.
- What happens to the photo after a recurring birthday passes?
- When Antici advances the birthday, the completed occurrence keeps its photo or video in history. The next birthday starts without one. Edit it to choose new media, or select Use previous photo when an earlier photo is available.
- Can I keep several birthdays together?
- Yes. Create a Birthdays category and assign each birthday moment to it. You can choose an individual birthday to show in your Home Screen widget.
